I am a female entrepreneur that is seeking new ideas in the coffee industry. I hold skills in networking, engineering, and technology. I’m looking for innovative ways to get people their caffeine at a quicker pace. Starbucks limes are always so slow on campus. My idea is to create a Coffee ATM that will cut that time by more than half. This machine will be targeted towards college students and university faculty. These ATMs will be able to customize various coffee combinations. It will have a multitude of coffees, creamers, sugars, mills, syrups, and much much more. This machine is a coffee lovers dream. You can order your beverages through the machine’s app. This app will let customers customize their coffees with in a matter of seconds and have their coffee made within minutes. No need to wait in extremely long lines, because there will be a multitude of ATMs all over campus. These ATMs will also have multiple pickup portals in each machine to maximize productivity and minimize wait time. Students often pick waiting in line for their coffee over being on-time to class. In between classes, where you have 15 minutes to get from point A to point B, I personally find myself stressing out about not being tardy to class but also trying to get my daily dosage of caffeine. These machines would reduce my wait time so much with just a few clicks of a button. Students can have a payment method linked to their app so that they don’t have to constantly pull out their wallets and rummage around looking for their credit card. A great idea to increase brand awareness would be to partner up with top coffee companies, like Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts. This could help make my start up concept into the next big coffee BOOM! This concept is a modern take on what the coffee industry evolving to be.
I feel like these elements fit very well together. College students and coffee go hand-in-hand. The only weak points of my concept are the locations of these ATMs. Finding areas that would best suit these machines plays a big part in level of success. Other than that, I believe that my concept is innovative and trendy. Most college students are glued to their devices and making a coffee ATM that can be powered through a phone app is a great way to create new opportunities and markets.

From the feedback given from the previous post, I gathered that a great way to increase brand awareness would be through partnerships with coffee companies, including Starbuck and Dunkin’ Donuts. Another thing that I picked up on was how I can use my talents and skills to create an even stronger concept. I incorporated these listed feedbacks by thinking of different ways to build brand awareness and profits, and to strengthen my business plan and mission.

ReplyDeleteI am still a big fan of your coffee ATMs. I think the best locations to place the ATMs are the "hotspots" of the campus. A good location for example could be the Library West. But I am pretty sure there are a lot of other good locations to place them.
A cooperation with Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts is a very good idea. It might be a good idea to get them as investor for the ATMs because I think it will be quite expensive to produce the machines.
i think you are pretty close to seeing these happen or seeing someone else place them on campus before you. It is often romanticized how a character will say "i thought of that years ago" but who cares. An idea is worth nothing but a business with a great product but just hasnt realized the full potential may be worth millions.
