9A - Testing the Hypothesis Part 2

Do you like standing in long coffee lines? Do you use coffee Apps? Why or why not? What would you recommend to reduce long coffee lines? Would you use Coffee ATM machines? Interview #1 Absolutely not. I have the Starbuck app, but the shops on campus don’t let us (students) preorder from their app. There should be more locations, like pop-up coffee spots around campus that offer coffee at a discounted price compared to Starbucks located on campus. If it saves me time by not standing in line, then absolutely. Interview #2 It’s not my favorite thing to do but it is something that everyone has to deal with. I have the Starbucks app and Tapingo. I like to use them when I’m in a hurry and don’t have time to wait. I would say using the coffee apps reduces customers wait times. I know it reduces mine. I would totally use it! Interview #3 ...

8A - Solving the Problem

When thinking of ways to reduce long coffee lines, coffee ATMs come to mind. Students could preorder their coffee via App and have their coffee waiting for them at the nearest coffee ATM. There is a similar concept that produces cupcakes (Sprinkles). There could be coffee ATMs scattered around campus to reduce lines and conflict for students. These ATMs would have multiple pickup boxes/cubbies in each machine to maximize pickup rates and reduce wait times. Customers would have a time limit to pick up their order. If not picked up within that set time, then the order would be disposed of by the machine and the customer would be refunded their money. These ATMs would provide customers with customized beverages meant to suit most coffee lovers needs.

7A - Testing the Hypothesis

Hypothesis: College students are arriving late to classes due to waiting in long coffee lines caused by the lack of staff and space coffee shops have. Who: College students & coffee shops on campus What: Students are arriving late to class because of long coffee lines Why: Lack of staff and work space provided to execute orders at a rapid pace Do you often find yourself arriving late to class because of long coffee lines? Are you willing to sacrifice your attendance for waiting in a coffee line? Do you use any Apps to help reduce your wait time? (Tapingo, Starbucks, etc.) What would you recommend to these coffee shops to reduce their wait times? Do you think that the lack staff and/or work space factors into the wait times? Interview #1 Yes No, because my classes only have a 10-minute grace period in between classes and I get points deducted from being late. Yes, I use...

6A - Identifying Opportunities in Economic & Regulatory Trends

2-in-1 Washer Dryer (Economic) Before I left for class this morning, I put a load of laundry in the washer. I asked if my roommate would move over my laundry for me but we both failed to remind each other. When I got home my clothes smelt like mildew and I had to wash them all over again. In this every progressive era, I thought of the opportunity to have a washer that also dried your clothes right after washing them automatically. This eliminates the stress of realizing that you may have forgotten your wet clothes in the washer for too long and now they smell a little funky. A great customer for this idea would be the ever-so-busy mom that is always moving trying to make the kids lunches, clean the house, and go to soccer practice. We all have forgotten are clothes before and this 2-in-1 product would be great! I saw this opportunity because I am one of those people that always forgets about their clothes in the washer. This opportunity eliminates timely steps in the washing/dry...

5A - Identifying Local Opportunities

.DAY OFF? BUCS, YOU HAVE A LOT TO LEARN http://go.galegroup.com.lp.hscl.ufl.edu/ps/retrieve.do?tabID=T004&resultListType=RESULT_LIST&searchResultsType=SingleTab&searchType=AdvancedSearchForm&currentPosition=7&docId=GALE%7CA505328358&docType=Article&sort=Relevance&contentSegment=&prodId=GPS&contentSet=GALE%7CA505328358&searchId=R1&userGroupName=gain40375&inPS=true The Tampa Bay Bucs started their season off right with an unpredictable win against the Bears. With a crazy win, one would expect the Bucs to have the next day (Monday) off and resume practice on Wednesday. WRONG. The problem here is that teams, like the Bucs, that are known to be weaker tend to think they are invincible when they start out their season with a shocking win, and end up throwing in their season due to cockiness. Despite the impressive win, the head coach, Dirk Koetter, made the decision to continue with practice on Monday and go over all the things that the t...

4A - Forming An Opportunity Belief

Belief/Opportunity During hurricane season, the state of Florida has the potential of being devastated by a multitude of storms between June and November. With hurricane Irma hurling her way toward us, I quickly got into my car and went to Publix to buy a couple of cases of water, a flashlight, non-perishables, and batteries. Unfortunately, almost all the stores were out of all items I needed because of the high demand from the surrounding population. This got me thinking about why Florida does not have hurricane packages, that contain all the necessary items for a potential hurricane based on household size, that are automatically shipped to residents that plan to stay in the state or have not been evacuated. This could potentially prevent the risk of extinguished supplies at local stores around Florida. Many Floridians don’t receive or obtain all the necessary supplies needed to get through a potential devastation. Interview #1 I need water for this hurricane incase the po...

My Entrepreneurship Story

Image
Growing up, my family was very involved in the business world. My Uncle is a very successful business man that owns over 10 restaurants. I was very exposed to the wide world of Burger King, Smoothie King, Papa Johns, Bonefish Grill, and many bar & grills. When I was younger, my mom would take me to work and show me all the things she had to do to make my uncle the successful man he is today. She was in charge of all the financial books. Through the years I was able to see my Uncle develop different concepts and turn them into reality. One of my favorite establishments that he owns is call Losers. Losers is a bar and grill that is located in Nashville, TN. Many country music star, including Zac Brown, Miranda Lambert, and Sam Hunt, have made this bar their place to grab a beer and relax. My Uncle was also a board member of the Outback Bowl. I was blessed to be apart of all the amazing fundraisers, have all access passes during the bowl games, and all the before and after events. My ...
