19A Idea Napkin No. 2

I am a female entrepreneur that is seeking new ideas in the coffee industry. I hold skills in networking, engineering, and technology. I’m looking for innovative ways to get people their caffeine at a quicker pace. Starbucks limes are always so slow on campus. My idea is to create a Coffee ATM that will cut that time by more than half. This machine will be targeted towards college students and university faculty. These ATMs will be able to customize various coffee combinations. It will have a multitude of coffees, creamers, sugars, mills, syrups, and much much more. This machine is a coffee lovers dream. You can order your beverages through the machine’s app. This app will let customers customize their coffees with in a matter of seconds and have their coffee made within minutes. No need to wait in extremely long lines, because there will be a multitude of ATMs all over campus. These ATMs will also have multiple pickup portals in each machine to maximize productivity and minimize wait ...

18A Create a Customer Avatar

Image
My prototypical customer is your basic college student. This customer loves their venti white chocolate mocha, non-fat, no whip, double shot, and two pumps raspberry coffee. This customer is in their early 20s and has an act for karaoke and hanging out with friends. They have a tight schedule that is focused on classes, studying, sorority life, and sleeping when ever there is time. Their favorite place to study is at a little coffee shop located downtown. They cannot go a day without their coffee. When not having their face shoved in a textbook, they are often found relaxing in their hammock outside of the library, watching the sun set for the day. If they are not on campus, they are either attending a sorority event or on their way to work. This customer always has a packed schedule with very little wiggle room. When they have a chance to breath and decompress, they often take sometime to escape from the hectic world around them and enjoy a nice book. Final Set of Questions: I defi...

17A Elevator Pitch No.2

Image
From the feedback I received from my last pitch, I saw that there were questions about how to customize your drinks. I clarified on what you can do when ordering through the cell phone app and online in this pitch. Other than that little tweak, all the comments I had received from my last pitch were all so very nice and positive! Everyone seemed very excited about my idea and could relate quite easily.

16A What's Your Secret Sauce?

Self-Description: - I am an outgoing and talkative human being - Respectively brutally honest - Self-motivated/determined - Optimistic/Positive outlook and attitude on life - Friendly to all types of people, regardless to their attitude/judgment of myself (if someone has a reason to dislike me or has a bad attitude) (I just want to be your friend) Interviews from people that know me the best: Interview #1: outgoing, super kind, extremely positive, motivated and a goal getter, hardworking, really good memory. Can always have a good time. Is never rude to people. Not judgmental. Interview #2: Remi is a very up-beat person, but does try very hard for people to like her. She’s a people pleaser and will go the extra mile to make sure that you’re okay. She’s a hard worker and highly motivated. She is always moving and has her plate very fully it seems like. Interview #3: You are one of the nicest people I know. You are extremely loyal and kind. I can alway...

15A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior

To summarize my findings from the interviews I conducted, I found that coffee/caffeine is a must for busy-bodies, especially college students. I interviewed three college students randomly picked from three Starbucks stores located on campus. My set of alternatives included: (1) Coffee delivery on campus (the catch is that there is a delivery fee) (2) Preordering coffee apps (3) More coffee options in vending machines around campus The winner of the three was the coffee delivery. It was said that the delivery fee would be worth it if it means that waiting in line would be avoided. Quickness and mobility were the top two topics of the interviews. Students prefer to not waste their time waiting for their coffee in line while also trying to get to class. Most students don’t carry cash on their bodies, so instead they use credit cards. Coffee is a must for these students. There is no going wrong with purchasing coffee. The flavors, creaminess, boldness, just any way you like your cof...

14A Halfway Reflection

Image
I am a horrible procrastinator; however, I will always finish my required assignments on time, every time. Time management is a must for this course. I tend to look over the weekly blog posts to pick out the interview posts from the opinion based posts. This helps me plan out where I need to be in order to interview the necessary people for each assignment. Sometimes I feel like giving up or not doing a post because I have enough “Cupcake” points to skip one or two assignments. I won’t say that I have developed a negative attitude about the assignments because it is only based off of my laziness. However, again, I do always end up finishing all assigned blog posts for each week. What I would offer to students in the upcoming semester is to (1) don’t procrastinate, just get the posts done ASAP, (2) explore the course’s canvas page thoroughly because there are links/pages that I didn’t even see until brought about in an assignment, and (3) WATCH THE LECTURES… they will help tremendous...

13A Reading Reflection

Grinding It Out: The Making of McDonald's, Ray Kroc McDonalds is one of the most known brand globally. The most surprising thing was that the founder was so determined and positive even though he faced many personal issues throughout his life time. He suffered from diabetes and arthritis. I admired the entrepreneurs attitude and strategic style! He also lied about his age. Ray was the top salesman of his industry. He worked all day and had a very fixed routine. One of my favorite quotes in this piece is “my best years were still ahead.” Two questions I would ask would be: (1) Why did you lie so long about your age and how did you think that affected your business career? (2) If you could, would you have wanted to start a new concept, similar to McDonalds, or are you content with where you stand? I think that the entrepreneur had a great opinion on hard work. He worked day and night with little to no days off. It changed when his wife became upset with him about it because he ...

12A Figuring Out Buyer Behavior

The segment I choose to pursue were caffeine loving college students. After interviewing these types of students, I learned that there needs to be a quicker way to reduce coffee shop wait lines. Most of these students found this unmet need of quick coffee when rushing to order and pick up their coffee while racing to class before their 15-minute grace period is over. I introduced my idea of the Coffee ATM, which is a machine that lets customers customize their own coffee beverages on their cell phone, the ATM itself, and online. Each person agreed that this machine would be very beneficial to the university’s campus and to all coffee loving students that occupy it. Most students said that when they become aware of their need, they rely on pre-ordering apps that only reduce their wait time by a small amount. Some examples of these apps include the Starbuck’s app and Tapingo. Students also relied on the internet to find coupons and other apps that could help them skip the long lines they...

11A Idea Napkin

My name is Remi Brantley. My talents are that I can basically talk to anyone at any time anywhere. I’ve been told that I could make friends with a brick wall if it were possible. I aspire to be an event manager for sport teams, specifically football. Another aspiration of mine is to manage sport facilities. I love networking and making new connections/relationships and I feel that this gives me an advantage in the sports industry. Although my product does not relate to my aspirations, I feel as though a coffee ATM would be a great addition to universities around the country. These ATMs will be ran from cell phone apps and from online ordering. Each ATM will provide customers with a vast amount of customizable coffees. College students would be the targeted audience because of the amount of revenues that are gained from on-campus coffee shops, including Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. These ATMs will provide students with quick and delicious coffee. These machines are designed to minimize ...
