11A Idea Napkin

My name is Remi Brantley. My talents are that I can basically talk to anyone at any time anywhere. I’ve been told that I could make friends with a brick wall if it were possible. I aspire to be an event manager for sport teams, specifically football. Another aspiration of mine is to manage sport facilities. I love networking and making new connections/relationships and I feel that this gives me an advantage in the sports industry. Although my product does not relate to my aspirations, I feel as though a coffee ATM would be a great addition to universities around the country. These ATMs will be ran from cell phone apps and from online ordering. Each ATM will provide customers with a vast amount of customizable coffees. College students would be the targeted audience because of the amount of revenues that are gained from on-campus coffee shops, including Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. These ATMs will provide students with quick and delicious coffee. These machines are designed to minimize the amount of time spent waiting in lines. Students are very busy during the semester and need a quicker way to obtain their daily dose of caffeine without being late for class. There are cell phone apps that let students “skip” coffee lines by pre-ordering their drinks, BUT coffee ATMs are made to let customers pre-order and receive their coffee without even waiting in line. These machines will have 4 to 5 pick-up cubbies to increase productivity and decrease wait time. What sets me apart from everyone else is that there are only a few machines like the coffee ATM, Sprinkles and pizza ATMs. These coffee ATMs blow Starbucks and Dunkin out of the water by have double the amount of productivity and half the average wait time than their competitors.

I feel as though my elements almost fully fit each other. The only reason why I say “almost” is because my main aspirations deal with sports and this product has little to no relation with sports. With this product, I believe that I can bring college students joy from quick and customizable coffee. Location is a big factor with this product. In the future, I plan to expand into highly populated metropolitan cities, like Tampa or New York. Testing prototype coffee ATMs would be easy because of the abundance of college students that attend the University of Florida and the students of Santa Fe College.

  1. There is actually a lot you can say to a brick wall - they are such great listeners and are surprisingly photogenic. I wouldn't write Dunkin and Starbucks out of the business plan as you will likely partner to push their products. Keep your enemies close and your competitors closer. Your talents and soft skills will help you grow ANY company ad allow you to hire the talent needed for the specialized jobs.

  2. Hi Remi, I definitely agree with Kris's comments- using Dunkin and Starbucks as partners seems a much more strategic advantage than fighting with them as competitors! Although you say you don't have much relation to coffee due to your aspirations to work in the field of sports, I think that as a college student (a large market of college drinkers), the product would still be relevant to you. It also seems like our personality would allow you to perform well as a sales person. Sales would be huge, especially for an entrepreneur with a new product.
